Disney Couture jewelry is some of my favorite themed jewelry. It ranges from the inexpensive to the high end. It is themed around all sorts of Disney movies. One of the latest to be interpreted is the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland movie. I love the style of Tim Burton’s films and looked forward to seeing it. I wasn’t disappointed, it was visually stunning. I was curious to see what the jewelry inspired by the film was going to be like.

I didn’t like most of the pieces. I expected all of them to be more of the luxury items from Disney Couture and most were not. I did, however, find one I liked. It is the Tom Binns for Alice in Wonderland Tangled Chain Necklace. It might not be for everyone, but I fancied it.

I will admit that it is a bit busy. It is a gold, as the name suggests, tangle of chains and charms. It is 16” long and has a lobster clasp. I’m not sure how many chains are linked together or how many charms it has, but let’s just say there are a lot. The charms are all Alice in Wonderland inspired. It is a messy necklace to say the least. It certainly is eye catching and will garner a lot of comments.

This is definitely a necklace for a grown up. Besides the style, the price tag of $175.00 says that. If you are a fan of the film or the story in general, then it might be worth it to you to spend the money.

Pear Shaped Pendant

I have just seen a stunning piece of jewelry. It is a Pear Shaped 14k Gold Green Amethyst Charm. I found it on a jewelry website called Heavenly Treasures and their name says it all. It is definitely unique and even better, so affordable.

I had never seen green amethyst before, only purple. I really like the color green, and this green amethyst is a pale one, almost clear. The chain is yellow gold and the stone is encased in yellow gold. It looks good with this stone, though my preference is for white gold. Unfortunately, the chain does not come with the pendant. That bothers me. It is a pendant not a charm. I think only charms should be sold separately. The pendant alone is usually $89, but it is on sale for $59.95. I think the $59.95 price tag is more appropriate since you are not even getting a chain.

To me this is a special occasion piece. I think this would be beautiful with a fun, flirty, floral dress designed with soft colors. That would be perfect for a summer outdoor wedding or baby or bridal shower. You could wear this out on a date, but I’m not sure I would wear it every day. Even though it is relatively inexpensive, it is still a fine jewelry piece deserving of a special outfit and event.

I really do like this piece. It is the right price and an unexpected amethyst color. I just wish the chain was included.
